AV Copies' copyright owners are audiovisual authors, practising artists, and programme producers. These include actors, journalists, playwrights, directors, artists, musicians, producers, and photographers who are organised in various unions. AV Copies functions as a joint organisation for these unions and ensures that their members are paid when their works are used for teaching purposes. TV stations also enter into licensing in the form of collaborative agreements.
The distribution of fees is carried out by the individual trades unions that distribute the money to copyright owners in the various areas.
